As Managing Director of Blond Productions (Pty) Ltd, Christiaan runs a busy South African full production rental company, building client relationships and co-ordinating the hire of lighting, sound, video equipment. The company also supplies production and design services and works extensively in the film and TV sectors … making cool stuff happen!

Robe: Where are you right now?

Christiaan: At my home in Garsfontein, Pretoria, South Africa.

Robe: What are you doing to fill the time whilst isolating?

Christiaan: I try to follow a daily routine as close as possible to keep sane! Get up early on the weekdays and do a bit of exercise, work – reply to mails and have online meetings with our team.

I strongly feel that one should not go into a “holiday” mode during this period as this will make your motivation and inspiration levels 0%. Weekends must still be weekends and then you can have a couple of beers and sleep in late!

Robe: What’s the most creative thing you’re able to do in isolation?

Christiaan: Everything around the house that I’ve always made an excuse for not to do. Like cleaning the garage and fixing up all the things my wife has been asking me to do for years! … hehe :)

Robe: Are you looking after anyone else during the crisis?

Christiaan: Yip, my wife, 3 x Kids, 2 x Dogs and 2 x Cats.

Robe: Has anyone inspired you since this started?

Christiaan: I think we have all drawn a lot of inspiration & motivation from each other during this crazy time, especially those who work closely with you every day, and my wife has also been a solid support for me.

Book: Seven Deadly Sins – Corey Taylor (American singer, songwriter, actor and author well known as the lead vocalist and lyricist for bands Slipknot and Stone Sour)

Book: The 10X Rule – Grant Cardone (to achieve "Massive Action" results)

Netflix Series: Sons of Anarchy (American crime tragedy television series created by Kurt Sutter that aired from 2008 to 2014)

Showmax Series: Fynskrif (drama TV series based around a South African law firm)

Robe: What’s the first thing you’d like to do when we are through this?

Christiaan: Have a braai with my buddies.

Robe: Own question / answer / message of solidarity or something you’d want to say?

Christiaan: I think we all need to stay positive throughout this period and still respect each other no matter what … we are all in it together!
