US rockers Maroon 5 have just completed an Australian arena tour using 31 Robe ROBIN 600 LEDWash fixtures as a major part of the lighting rig designed by William Sheldon.
The lighting equipment and stage structure for the tour was supplied by Melbourne based rental operation, Phaseshift Productions. The band played sold-out concerts there and in Sydney and Brisbane to wildly enthusiastic audiences.
The LEDWash 600s were positioned on five upstage vertical towers and provided soft, warm back lighting throughout the show. It was the first time that William has used Robe LEDWash 600s but he was extremely impressed. "They are reliable, compact and have a wide and rich colour spectrum," he comments.
He liked them so much that he has now specified them for his upcoming Meat Loaf tour.
Phaseshift Productions recently purchased a quantity of LEDWash 600s from Robe's Australian distributor ULA Group. Other high profile tours on which they have been used include Cindy Lauper, Gary Newman, Modest Mouse and A Day to Remember. The company also owns Robe ColorWash 1200E ATs moving lights.
From a hire company perspective, Phaseshift director Dave Jackson thinks that the output of the LEDWash 600 is a hugely important feature, and in general, he reckons that Robe's reputation for making reliable, well engineered products is one of the brand's biggest assets.
